In 1995 the experience restaurant Nautilus was opened, built to represent the fantasy submarine from Captain Nemo from the book `20,000 leagues under the sea`.
The guest rooms are in the rudder room, engine room as well as the crew and captains galleys. The idea comes from the connection between Submarine, water, beach, Neukamp and Ruegen.
As per the book from Jules Verne `20,000 leagues under the sea` as well as the film, the certain areas were built to exact detail, for example, in the bar you will find the casings are made from 100 year old wood, taken from old English pews.
Kirk Douglas would find himself quite at home here, even Nemos' water-organ has been re-created in our Nautilus in the same place as in the film - many colourful fish swim through the 3,000 litre aquarium, it appears as if you are looking directly into the ocean.
